Testing an engine

What do you guys think of starting an engine such as a 4AGE on an engine stand? Would the stand cope with it? What if the sump was sitting on something to lessen the load?

edit: Forgot about where the starter would mesh with the fly. Looks unlikely without the gearbox, which rules out an engine stand.

Iv done it before with a 1G on an engine stand had the flywheel and bellhousing mounted to the engine then that was bolted to the stand.

Strapped the stand to a pallet so it was nice and stable, no worries

How on earth did the bellhousing fit in the space between the engine and the stand?

In my case, its a transaxle, and I cant see it fitting at all!

Anyway, good to know your stand could handle the abuse. Thanks for the input.
