Radiator question

Postby nickp » Tue Nov 19, 2013 7:40 pm

So I'm currently replacing my radiator. When I took it out there were two brass fitting (I'm guessing a feed and return line next to the main water return. I assumed they were water lines but when I removed them they started leaking what looks like either oil or transfluid. It kept going so I blocked the line off.

So anyway, what are the extra hoses for? Did I get air in something important? (I'm talking about the two brass fitting in the pic below)

Also while I'm here, the replacement radiator off an ae101 levin has a fan with five fins but has the same plug as my radiator (off an ae101 corolla) which has four fins. Can I just use the new fan or should I keep my old one?

It's auto transmission oil. The radiator has a cooling element for the transmission.

I'd use whichever fan you want. Just make sure it's mounted in the right place ie push/pull
