Factory brochure & options list ae101 levin

Post by softlad »

I'm after some details relating factory released specs and options on an ae101 Levin Apex GT superstrut silvertop, specifically the various wheel and tyre options that could be specified when ordering a car, even if it was a factory TRD option.
Thanks in advance

These links are great, and I will examine at work tomorrow where I have programs that can enlarge the images.

What I am trying to find is a 50 profile tyre option from factory or dealer

why? Nothing to stop you from fitting 205/50/15s if you want.

Or are you trying to bend the rules for 2k cup?

I spent alot of money on some 195/50/15 not thinking it was going to be a big deal as same width tyre but it has been suggested that these are not correct so I am looking for documentation to suggest there is nothing wrong with using them, I got them for wet weather tyres as the other tyres I have for racing are 1.5mm tread almost worn tyres.
If the weather is getting better there won't be an issue but running a worn road tyre in the wet does not really appeal when you consider how much traffic there is in a 2k Cup race.

they wouldn't put a 50 profile on due to the speedo error it would cause.

only 15inch is 195/55/15 in the factory catalogs. an no reference to tyre size on the trd wheels.

and the trd wheels came with 195/55/15

Unfortunately not. I've never seen a set on any AE101 over here before and have only seen a couple of sets in existence overseas. At ¥370,000 (just over $4,600 NZD) they were a VERY expensive option, especially back in the 90's.

Wasn't implying you were, but the attitude of certain other toyspeeders is pretty obvious.

If you are blatantly cheating, your missing the whole point of the 2K Cup

Thats blatantly cheating/pushing it though (as will happen in all motorsport for eternity), a dispensation of +/- 5% sidewall profile or something surely could be implemented so jokers dont have to $&#$% about trying to find odd ball sizes just because their cars came out from factory on them in 1985/whenever

Have heard second-hand that gen 1 and 2 sw20s are allowed to run 15's but they only came out on 14's - seems a bit hypocritical if this is the case (someone might be able to confirm if all these facts are correct)

yeah this, my point about tyres is by being a bit flexible and letting people fit commonly available tyres they are probably more likely to keep people interested/continue to attract big fields...make people jump through pointless hoops and they will start getting agitated pretty quick.

Gen2s came with 15", only the gen1s that had 14s. I did wonder if the upgrade option also applied to the suspension and brake upgrades that came with gen 2..

The rules seem all over the place, will be interesting to see if they sort them by the end of the season to a coherent rule set.

Back on the subject of Toyota options , was powersteering an option or standard equipment specifically on the Levin?

I want one of those black edition AE86's listed in the brochure. Looks pimp!

If you're talking the AE101 Levin, yes it was standard on all of them.
