Large BANG/CLUNK

So the father in law has a ae101 levin non superstrut, after he went over a big pothole at around 100kph it has had a loud bang/clunk when you go over a bump, seems to be coming from the left rear and you can feel it through the car its that bad. I have had it up on a hoist and there is nothing that you can see that is broken or bent, checked top of the strut everything is tight. Have just replaced sway bar bushes and links.
Could a bent strut cause this?

You would have to suspect strut.
Not a big job to remove and check. Have a look for oil leaking around the seal before removing

Is it bottoming out when you hear the noise?
