Nissan Tiida baby seat question

Postby FST4RD » Thu Nov 28, 2013 9:29 pm

I know it's not a Toyota, but I'm not on any Nissan forums, plus people here are pretty knowledgeable
My partners sister has a 2008 Tiida hatch. From everything I have read on the net (most of it from America) they're meant to have a few anchor points, or at least a few places to screw anchor points to. I have looked almost everywhere in the boot, I pulled off the interior below the boot and nothing, so either side and nothing.
The only place I didn't look was on the roof under where the boot hinges are (that's where the legacy ones were)
I know they're a super common car, so I thought someone might know?

Make your own hole for the anchor somewhere in the parcel tray that is away from speaker holes etc. Can get the anchors from repco. They come with spacer bushes etc to mount the anchor above trims. Dont mount the hook plate with the trim packed between it and parcel tray, it has to be solid! Sometimes you have to drill a larger dia hole in the trim so the spacers can sit between plate and trim.

Just make sure its in a strong area and the large washer is on the nut side. The concave on the washer should be facing nut aswell..

Not sure if its just a local dealer thing but here you can go to toyota and they'll put an anchor point in for you - zero cost.

EDIT / Sometimes you have to drill a larger dia hole in the trim so the spacers can sit between plate and PARCEL TRAY.

I put one in my Suzuki Alto. I had to drill a hole in the boot floor, and fitted it with the massive washer and spacers, super solid.
However you would think on a very modern Japanese family car they would already have mounting holes for anchor points.
Oh I do already have the anchor point with all the spacers and washer etc.

Does the car have ISOFIX brackets?(my 2000 Fielder and my 2006 Fielder have them)these are for mounting baby seats, you may need to use a baby seat with approved ISOFIX fittings.I also have a Honda Accord with the ISOFIX system and the handbook tells about mounting the baby seat to to ISOFIX fittings.

It doesn't have them either! Kinda strange it doesn't have either.
I'm going to head to the local Nissan dealership today ask them.
