As some of you may have noticed the forum had a bit of a 'birthday' over the weekend!
Our forum host Zylex has taken the opportunity to upgrade the very-out-of-date phpBB software that has been running the forum for a very, very long time...
This was actually a necessity due to a problem with the forum that developed on Friday and that kept it down for much of the weekend.
So a HUGE thank you to Zylex for getting on top of things so quickly and for upgrading our software for us (something that's been long overdue for a while).
A few points to note:
- Yes, post count data is now visible again. This was previously hidden (through a very basic hack, and easily seen-through) many years ago due to post-whores hamming up their counts unnecessary. I don't see the need to go down this path again yet so let's just see what happens, OK?
- Yes, the forum theme is currently pretty 'default'. Previously a little time had been taken to customise things, we've not yet had a chance to look into this so 'deal with it' for a bit, please.
Remember we are volunteers, not all the Mods are skillful forum-geeks in terms of forum admin and layout etc etc, and those who are can be pretty busy. Good things take time.- Yes, the default for phpBB3 seems to be to put poster details etc on the right side, not the left. Please 'deal' while we look into customisation options etc. Better this than no forum at all, right?
