Filled up again. Third tank of E85 so far and each time has been consistently 440-450kms to 48-50L @ ~$1.30/L. Not that economy is ever a concern on E85 but I'm happy with that.

Gutted.

(Are his wheels for sale? lol)

iOnic wrote:Gutted. Sounds like both MX5's just couldn't stop in time.

Yeah I did lock up slightly (no ABS is more fun on the track but definitely has it's benefits in split second panic braking) but I don't think it would have made much difference- since it was on a round a bout, I was already at an angle to her and she pulled out at the last minute....if I had turned away from her, I would have just hit her more square, if I turned with her I would have hit less square but in a worse spot (i.e. more panel damage for her car and my car).

I didn't have any time/space tp do much apart from try and minimise the impact.

Nar, more the fact that the little front grill and fog lights probably wont be fitted as I dont have any and they are hard to come by.
Other than that the front looks like it will be easier to fit than the rear.

Went and bought 20 metres of wire, a bag of conduit, and some solder, so I can make up my new ignition loom to run between the coils and ignitor.

Also, I went to Coastal Fasteners and got some new black allen key ended bolts to replace all of the old oxidised bolts for my cam covers, and coil covers etc.

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Took the car for a drive, rebuilt auto has a much harder shift, but nothing I can't live with.

Updated ECUs firware......fail......Fuel and igintion map gone...... Had to rebuild a fuel map from scratch so I could drive the car back into the garge.

Now, time to fix those annoying oil leaks.

If I were to put a V8 in it, I'd use a proper one ;) 4 litres is just not worth it
