HEY!!! 2013 isnt over yet!!! There is still a test with the old V8s to go first ;)

Yeah, double points for the final round has pretty much been met with global condemnation, and rightfully so. If they were worring about championships not going to the wire (which is actually silly considering that 6 of the last 8 have), then reduce the points gap between 1st and 2nd, back to the percentage gap that was brought it a decade ago to try and crush Schumachers dominance, but for the love of Jeebus, dont make it artificial like Nascar and their championship within a championship BS.

The initial proposal was for the final 4 races to be double points, which I actully quite like, but just one race?? $&#$% that.

Everything else about next season has me intrigued though, and I cant wait to see how differently each team, and engine manufacturer will have
gone about their business. The ERS systems will have large differences too, so lets hope that one of the other teams does a Newey and comes up with some very creative 'outside the box' thinking, A la Brawns double diffuser.

Roll on Melbourne, and my birthday weekend :)

Sergio Perez confirmed last night, to partner Nico Hulkenberg at Sahara Force India.

I hope Di Resta gets to join IRL, instead of going back to DTM.

All the new penalties for powertrain failures, over the 5 units permitted per year, have been decided.

A trophy will now be awarded to the driver who sets the most Pole Positions in a season. I think its a shame they dont award points for pole.

They use to didn't they? Or was that points for fastest lap?

Man they like introducing some stupid rules in F1. I can see it now that 2nd in the championship will win due to an engine failure of first place in the final race even though they only come 5th or something lame like that. All races should be equal!

I dont agree with it either, but Its not the first time they have come up with rule changes to try and stop one persons dominance of the sport.

If they had made it the last 4 races of the season, that would have been better than the last one, only.

That would be more reasonable, although the same problem of 1 race of bad luck disproportionately turning the champion on its head, could still easily happen.

How about double points, but you need to do double distance, sharing the car with 50/50 lap share, with a GP2 driver chosen by lottery.

Indeed, and Richie Stanaway too :)

All we need now is a really solid year from Mitch Evans next year in GP2, and SVG to take out the V8SC and V8ST championships.

The articles don't make it clear if he was put into a coma or fell into a coma. I guess being put in as a precaution is better than the latter. Still apparently a press conference at 10am GMT (11pm tonight) should clear some things up. Unless something worse happens before then!

Yes, extremely sad news :(

I try not to pay too much attention to the headlines the media come up with, so am going to presume he is in an induced coma while swelling reduces, after the operation he had earlier.

The neuro surgeon has commented that he is in a serious, although not life threatening condition, so everyone, please cross your fingers and hope for a speedy recovery to full health.

Kia Kaha, Michael.

I agree!

On another note, http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/90 ... ors-a-joke He makes a good point. Of course Ferrari (and no doubt Merc, Redbull, Mclaren) would again have an edge due to unlimited funds to pour into testing time. But you don't see all of pro footballers sitting on computer games playing football matches... I loved the testing, it'd be great to see it return in some form - fuller than what there is now I mean.

I prefer to listen to Dr Gary Hartsteins opinion.

Although being in a coma for almost 3 weeks, sounds terrible, it is not at all uncommon with this kind of injury.

Im still crossing my fingers, toes, arms and legs that he can pull through this and return to a somewhat normal life, to enjoy with his family.

C'mon Schu, give it all you have got!!
