Toolpro Roll cabs

[Grrrrrrr!]

Anybody got one.. decent or rubbish?

Supercheap has them on special, 37" 5 drawer roll cab for $389.. Need/want a rollcab, is there something better for similar money, or should i just grab one of the toolpros?

I have a silver one from SCA that looks identical in every other aspect. It does the job fine for the $$$. Got it as part of a combo with a toolbox on the top as well. The only thing I can think of, is that you usually need to pull the drawers out with two hands to keep it even. Otherwise it can catch if one side doesn't slide. That might be the norm, I haven't owned any other units. But it's a minor thing when considering the size of the toolbox for the price.

Not sure on the SCA ones, but have you checked out Bunnings? I know the Silverdale branch at least has a nice selection of toolboxes, seemed decent pricing last time I was in there.

We have those at work and theyre absolute rubbish. as you say the drawers are hard to open due to flimsy construction/ bad slides.

Also because of the crappy slides if you put tools in the drawers they fall out(the drawers cant handle much weight ) which kinda defeats the purpose.

Im getting seriously tempted to accidently fall through one while carrying a running 9" grinder lol.

Fair enough, I'd invest more if it was for work with it being used daily, but it's for me it's just home. If you grab the drawers in the centre (I just double checked) they pull out fine with one hand. It's just the slack in the slides that means if you grab it from one side it will catch.

As for weight i've got a drawer half filled with hammers and it's yet to cause any issues. As with everything, you get what you pay for no doubt. But I consider them to be good value for home use.

I've noticed a number of those supercheap roll cab's look fookin massive for the price, then when you see one in person you notice they are not very deep.

You get what you pay for with these things!

I think the Repco branded tool boxes are grouse for the money and the SCA calibre range seems pretty good for the $$ too.

I'll second the Repco ones. I got my roll cab and top box for around $500 the set. And they are pretty good quality, nice rollers in the draws etc.

The toolpro ones are alot better than the older silver SCA ones. They have proper ball bearing sliders as opposed to the SCA ones which just had pretty basic plastic sliders. Even though I work there I personally wouldnt have bought one of the silver SCA ones, they just seemed too flimsy compared to the Calibre ones. Ive had a Calibre one at home for a few years and its still going strong.

Might be various versions of the silver ones then. Mine have metal rails and ball bearings.
