Fair point, I agree and hadn't looked at it that way - partly as the only creditor I was (or am) aware of is the IRD... the person in the lawsuit from last year was paid out. I also think it's also a little more complicated than overall justice prevailing if the business owner in this case was screwed over, there is no winning in this situation.
The IRD getting screwed is you and me as taxpayers getting screwed. And based on my experience it is generally PAYE (that belongs to employees) and GST (that belongs to the taxpayer) rather than income tax that leads to business wind ups. Which makes the owners thieving pricks stealing from the general public and their staff.
Reading trough the thread re the GTR and what has been posted about the case, It would seem that perhaps the guy was not the perfect customer, and perhaps they were not the perfect business.
I personally have had customers that are more trouble than they are worth, few and far between but it does happen.
For once I agree with Callum, those that don't pay those PAYE & GST really irks me as its so easy to stay on top of. Business people who have the mentality of the 'cashie' (where they only deal like that) are the reason that taxes are so high in the first place.
There are plenty of customers that are way more trouble than they are worth and I have personally refused to do work for but I think in this case Shred took a job on that was far too advanced for them and have made a mess.
All this drama makes me even happier that I dont pay people to perform "work" on my car.
It would be good for the community to know where he ends up working, so people can be informed of his reputation, before being taken for a walk down the garden path.
Sounds like a self absorbed 8 year old. Makes you wonder how much experiance some of these guys have had before going into buisness. This Geoff guy sounds like he got the short end of the stick.
I used to deal with shred when I worked at repco when they first appeared, a couple of the guys I worked fell for all that aaron guys bullshit but I could tell from the start the guy was exactly as he's been described. Charlie was the name of the other original owner.
They were very bad at paying their account, lacked any form of professionalism and when I did approach Aaron about having my MR2 tuned we were mid conversation when Ben from Slipway walked in and he literally just walked off midsentence to go suck up to Ben.
I'm not surprised by anything that's been said or happened here.

Well, I guess the most important thing to do now, is to find out where he has started working, so people can avoid him, and somebody can inform his new employer of his not so stellar past.
Although Welly being as small as it is, I cant see him disappearing under the radar too easily.
