Buying a harmonic balancer?

Postby cat007 » Tue Mar 11, 2014 3:09 pm

Hi all

Has anyone ever bought a new after market harmonic balancer?
Where did you shop?

I'm wanting to get one for my Supra, and I don't really trust a 20 year old one doing 8,000rpm....

I got me a Titan/ATI when I was in the US.

Do they do a 1G compatible one?

If you arent going crazy with power, then the TGP item will be more than adequate.

I put a new TGP on on mine a year or so ago, just as a preventative measure, as I didnt fancy watching the outer ring flying through my carbon fibre bonnet at 7000rpm lol

It was still in good nick, but 16 years old, so cheap maintenance in my opinion :)

Mine gave up at 20yo and 240k. I have read the ATI pulleys can be a tight fit and may need to be heated on.

ATI don't do them for the 1G.

I might see what Ron (16OTU) used for his 300rwkw 1G. If he's still around!

is it a single row item or dual? Any where from $400-600.
they would need a sample to copy as well.
