Wasn't today but last week and not my car. Helped a mate change his stuffed TRD struts in his AE101 BZT. That all went fine and very quick.

After asking what fuel he uses he said 91. I'm pretty sure blacktop engines are meant to run on 95 because the ECU is tuned for it and the compression ratio is way above 10:1. Is it 11:1? Will running on 95 get better fuel economy? Pretty sure it will.

95 minimum. 98 preferred. It'll be running like shit on 91

Maybe that's why he cracked the head on the other engine.

Yeah it'll run like shit on 91, probably pings like crazy too. Wouldn't be the only one doing it though. Lost count of how many times I've seen people with 4A-GE's and 2ZZ's etc filling up with 91 at the gas station

I did advise him that it would be pinging and dumping fuel to compensate. Will tell him to use 95 to keep it running better. I've just gone from running 91 to 95 in the EP81 to stop pinging. Runs good now.

Refitted turbo compressor cover, oil feed and drain lines, intercooler piping and couplers, intake pipe and filter, and started it up to check for leaks, of which there were none.

Took it outside the garage and let the exhaust heat wrap emit its toxic stench, then took it for a road test.

Roll on Manfeild next weekend :)

Oh my lols

Commodore is gone, Mondog has replaced it. Realising I've spent $40 on change of ownerships in a week makes me laugh an awful lot.
Also spent the morning at PAP stealing manual conversion bits for the black Primera

Pap needs some shaded areas. It's like a mini desert up there.
