Yep and the 4th place Porsche just lost some gears and is in the garage.
Next two cars are the Rebellion Toyotas so looks like Toyota will get a podium.

Audi 1-2
Toyota 3rd with the car that ended up backwards in the fence in the rain early one, spent an hour in the pits for that!
and the Rebellion Toyota in 4th winning the LMP1-L class

Zytek Nissan won LMP2
Ferrari won GTE-PRO
And Aston Martin won GTE-AM with the car Simonsen was in last year.

Porsche got the no 14 out for the last lap

Next year Toyota need to have a car in that GTE Pro class.

Preferably this since Toyota have had this bad boy sitting round in there Cologne F-1 facility for a year or two now doing not much.

Such a shame for Toyota they were looking really strong the first half of the race. There car was a rocket ship and to sidelined by an electrical fault has to be a huge disappointment for the team.

Best ever results for both LFA's at the Nurburgring 24 hour.

The Code X car finished 11th overall and 1st in the SP-Pro class beating the well performed Manthey Porsche at the sametime.

Also the normal LFA won the SP-8 class and had a best ever 13th overall finish.

To put these results in perspective the only cars beating these cars were the GTE SP-9 classed cars.

Yep pass who know's.

I know the SP-8 and alot of those classes are production based specs as the LFA in that class runs pretty close to the factory vehicle's weight at 1450 kg

SP Pro pass at guess again prototype for future production???

SP-9 is basically GTE class like the car I posted earlier in that Race car Engineering article.

I don't know what to make of this new Code X platform Lexus are pursuing I'm not sure if they actually want to try and win the Nurburgring 24 hour or just this car is a development platform for the next Lexus Supercar.

Any way here's some action from last weekends race interesting 1st 5 km's on the GP circuit has both LFA's racing pretty close together with all the faster GTE classed cars.

Apparently they roll into the braking zones on purpose for improved fuel consumption and increased energy recovery.

I've just had a good read of last months Race car engineer mag and it explains the reasons as above for this.

Really recommended read also about Toyota's use of its old F-1 facility in Cologne and the continued development of the Hybrid technology at this stage they look to have the edge over the field in.

Another thing I found interesting was how the KERs is released in different cars apparently the Porsche system is progressive out of corners the Toyota system isn't deployed until the car is dead straight and just like an over boost button it gives you the lot.

Also found it interesting that Porsche's LeMans budget was 4 times more than what Toyota's was.
