wanted to use: Warped manifold flattening/grinding machine

Postby ATAl » Sat Jun 21, 2014 6:33 pm

Not quite sure what the machine is called, but basically the car has an exhaust leak around the turbo manifold area, either the manifold or the turbo housing flange is warped, and while I've got it all off the car I want to machine the flanges flat.

Does anyone in wellington have access to a machine that can do this? I can offer you beer or money in exchange.

Cheers

Brian @ HOWAT Engineering (in NaeNae) did mine, not exactly a 'tool' you can borrow though...

Are Howat engineering open during the weekend? The main reason I'm trying to find someone to do this is because I can't get to an engineering place during normal work hours.

I should clarify a bit that I don't want to actually borrow the machine, just use it, or get someone to use it on a evening or weekend.

Brian is there occasionally on weekends when I drive past. Probably working on his own stuff though

Ring them and ask if some will hang around one night so you can drop it off?

Thanks all, think I've got it sorted now. Turned out to be more than just warping...
