Cheap Action cam

Postby Stott69 » Sun Jun 29, 2014 10:49 pm

So I brought one of these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =742808281 so I could get some footage of my rides n stuff. As there was a decent discussion on is a gopro worth it Ill post up my first day ride with it. Camera is mounted to the bars in its 'water proof' case, picture quality isn't pro level, but nor is $75. will try it with a chest harness in a week or so time.

if you head mount the camera it will get rid of your body sway. I own a go pro hero 3 and have to say ill never go back to another action cam. They are worth their weight, even if you get the white edition. they can timelapse and photograph and can change the quality of your shot to save on memory. haha sounds as if i work for gopro themselves.

i think they are new for $330 now but of course trade me is your better option. either way, for what your using your cam for, head mount it for sure. or even put it on a pole to record yourself for some different shots.

Ive got a chest mount coming which is meant to be better as you get arms n stuff in the shot and be as stable. Oh and that was done in low res mode

Not bad quality for a $75 camera, it seems to struggle a bit with exposure and white balance but for the price you cant really complain

I got my action cam (Liquid Image Ego 727) from my old work a year ago when it was on clearance(~$130 with 32gb memory card). Just looked on trademe and they are around $240 new
It records in 1080p @ 30fps and 720p @ 60fps and also has wifi access from a phone or tablet which lets you get your framing right, remote start recording and also preview footage without plugging it into a pc.
