New Supra confirmed.

I thought this was a pretty positive step seeing old and faithful being remade with new century spin.

No commitment yet

UPDATE: Well, that was fast. Toyota got back to us, and while we're waiting to get some sort of official in-writing response, they're holding fast to the company line, at least here in the US. It is, as of this moment, a design study only, according to a company spokesperson.

But fingers crossed :)

Ill start saving now, and hopefully, if they are finally released, I might be able to afford one by 2030 :)

Tell you what when I used to see 60Cuba blasting up n down Cuba st I thought to myself even back then in the mid 90s if ever owning a MKIV was ever going to be a reality but it was even though back then imports were in the $80-90 K type region and as you well no NZ new $165 K.

Heavens above nie on 20 years down the track the MKIV has bought me for the most part nothing but joy.

As the article said if they managed to bring out a car anywhere near the way that concept looks and is as well engineered as the MKIV and I have the means TBH I'd be all over one.

Hehe, same here, Coryn.

I used to look at Daves one, and just quietly say to myself...one day...one day, I will own one.

I have a feeling I will be playing the long game with the new one too hehe

I remember first seeing 60CUBA when I was a trolley boy at Countdown Porirua well in the 90s and being blown away, sounds like it's the thing that got quite a few people thinking about Supras. I remember being puzzled by how big the exhaust was and how quiet it still was haha

Apparently his record from Paraparaumu to Cheapskates 60Cuba is 14 minutes.

Flying mile at over 250 just stupidly fast.Porsches Ferrari's be damned he used to put just about everything away in that thing back in the day.

Driving that beast around Manfeild circa 1996 when I was about 21, was all the convincing I needed that I would own one eventually lol

On my first lap out of the pits, I was looking around the cockpit, familiarising myself with everything, and I remember looking down at the gearbox tunnel console, and finding the boost controller and asking Dave what my choices were, and he said 11, 14, and 18psi from memory, so I chose number 3 lol

Om nom nom nom :D

True story a friend of ours was about to buy an RS2 Audi the RS4's younger brother, rocket ship the dealer told him back in the day we took it out on a test run I tell you what after throttling him across the Heywards and down the motorway our friend was totally bemused and didn't end up buying the car which at that time was nie on 100 K.

Got plenty of stories like that we used to go test driving cars on Saturday mornings meet up go to mostly Euro dealerships park the Supra about a block away grab a car take it out for a test drive and if it didn't match up to 60 Cuba anywhere in WGTN it was back to the dealership and lie yeah it was quite good but no thanks and move onto the next one.
