there is nothing more hilarious than watching a EL Falcon based up bogan style with 8 bogans in it filling the car up for an hour of laps

they all go in and split the price 8 ways, all of them paying their bit with cards with chips in them that takes forever to work, and always 2 or 3 of them are so baked they cant remember their pin so have to try it again a few times, all the while the attendant is eroding from the winds of time

I'd run out if I was doing that same economy test Leon
The more modern daily in the household would use about half a 60L tank.

fill it to full, run it to empty always hit the odo reset button so I know how much fuel I have because the gauges is on empty at 500, runs out at 800 and fuel light comes on at 800.01

In my mps I fill the tank right up once a week. Usually works out that I use about half a tank a week so I'm only ever putting in like $30 worth of fuel in at a time. At ~$1.60 a litre for 98 it's not really worth stressing over the cost tbh

The work car gets $40 of 95 whenever it his a 1/4 tank and the AA Smartfuel discount saved.
They toy gets the tank filled up of 98 using whatever discount I've accumulated in the 1-2 weeks since the last fill.

Usually ends up being a 8-12 cent discount. Sometimes more.

Fill it, check the oil and water and reset the trip meter.

My tank generally takes 40l of 95 and I get between 480- 550 km out of that with no concerted effort to save gas (why drive a small, inconvenient sports car if you can't fang it around the place!)

It's funny though, I generally give it some herbs for the first 1/2 tank , think 'oh shit Im getting horrible fuel economy' and then settle down for the last half to try and get better numbers

I fill it to the brim every time, as thats the most economical with my time, and its also the best way to save circa $15 on a tank when using a 30c petrol voucher :)

Great time to check oil and water and give the engine bay a glance over too.

When I was as poor as shit, the car would get $20 per week. Now I just fill them as needed.
Wagon gets 1000+kms to a tank so don't need to spend too much time filling up.
MR2 gets filled before a run.

I fill it right up as I can do up to 1000 km a week and it lets me keep an eye on fuel economy, plus filling up gives me time to clean the windows.

I fill both cars from fuel light each time (not empty, dont like using that last little dribble in the tank or playing gas station roulette). I do enough KM in the daily that if i only put $20 in each time i would spend more time at the servo than at work >_<

Polls like this always make me laugh.

Might as well do a 'how do you buy your milk' poll.

I buy my milk in 50L bottles, and decant into 2L bottles and freeze it.

Do you know how long it takes to go up the road every week and buy a 2L bottle of milk????!!!!!!

It's an outrage having to wait a whole minute in line at the local gas station just to buy 2L of milk. Almost as bad as having to wait a whole minute in line to buy $40 worth of fuel.

I got milk from a petrol station once. Got a free loaf of bread. Otherwise who would buy groceries at a petrol station? 8O
