Car Transport Company

Postby evil_evo » Sun Aug 10, 2014 11:38 am

Hey guys, looking to see whether anyone here can recommend me a car transport company so that I can transport a car from Christchurch to Auckland. I have looked around everyone charging premium buck for it i.e. 800+. Also add to my misery car is not drivable.

If anyone here can help out with shipping or any info regarding shipping will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

1000km+ to move a non runner isn't a small trip. That price doesn't sound THAT bad to me. Who have you got prices from? Tried Captain Transporter?

Sounds pretty damn reasonable for transporting a non-runner over that distance. Keep in mind they wont keep it on the one truck the whole way so there will be an added cost due to the hassle of them moving the car between trucks.

I was quoted not much less than that for a non running car from Christchurch to Wellington through a hook up, so $800 is pretty fair

1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar

OMG so shiny!

Thanks guys, Well this is the sad story. Car was drivable and plan was to drive the car back up to Auckland ferry was booked and all. 50 Kms from Christchurch clutch on the vehicle failed so now as you can understand not happy about this whole deal but "it is what it is".

Car was even inspected by Toyota Ashburton about 3 weeks ago!!!.

Anyway I am now waiting for quote from transport companies for non-runner.
