Not Toyota but 2007 Mitsi Colt Ralliart ver R
Purchased this back in may and came with a near new set of Blitz ZZR Coilovers (manufacture date 2011) looks like they were briefly fitted. Car currently has Tein S Tech Springs + Factory Shocks, also has extra front and rear bracing + quality wheels and rubber. Power department is also sorted.
Not really a big market for selling the coilovers as there arent many type R colts in NZ, so i'm considering fitting rather than letting them lay around unused, or giving them away for a pittance.
Main questions
- Blitz any good for coilovers ?
- Do pillowball tops wear out in under 20,000 kms like people say they do ?
- Anything else (other than cert) that i need to consider ?
Only other option is about $480NZ + fitting for a set of KYB SR Special Shocks to compliment the Tein Springs, will work out same as coilovers and cert.

Re: Coilver install or Not ???
I have a 2005 Ralliart that came from JDM with white shocks and yellow springs, don't know what makes but it drives real nice. a good improvement on the standard Ralliart model I also imported.
Maybe the coilovers were overkill for whoever owned it before hand.

Re: Coilver install or Not ???
there are more and more colts coming into the country recently so the market is expanding.
Whats wrong with the current set up that you need to change it? Chances are they were removed because the importer didnt want to have to bother certing the adjusties at compliance.
Unless you want low, id stick to what you have. The adjusties are almost certain to give a much harder and harsher ride.

Re: Coilver install or Not ???
Ended up selling them over to Aussie Rcolt member, nothing really wrong with my Tein-S techs on factory shocks except for the occasional rubbing on bumps....will look at getting some KYB SR Special Struts to compliment them.
Lucky I sold coilovers as I need to fund an Input Shaft seal replace (gearbox drop + $30 seal + $80 of Redline MT-90). Be nice to drive without having to smell Redline splashing onto the mid pipe and burning.

Curious - considering buying one of these for a while.
How are you finding them (Ralliart Colt)?
Have you had any gearbox issues? (I still may just have to buy one for giggles)

Re: Coilver install or Not ???
Have imported 3 x 2005 models for family.
Suit a short person really well as the bucket seats are comfy and have a pump in the squab.
If you are tall you probably want something else.
When buying parts you have to be careful as JDM and Aussie Ralliarts are different spec and NZ parts stores stock Aussie listings (at least for brakes/Hubs)
No gearbox problems. My nephew uses the tiptronic shift all the time and no problems either.
Comparing driving the standard ones the car with aftermarket Springs and shocks plus I put on some 15" Diezel mags new tyres have made a real difference to the handling.
It also came with a nice body kit and Gymkana stickers on the back windows so JDM owner had fun with it.

Suit short person ??? Im 6ft and there is still bucket load of room, are you sure they are colts not rebranded minis ?
@Lurkin
Only gearbox issue I had is the leaking Input Shaft Seal other than that they are a very fun car to drive, good on gas, lots of space for a hatch (seats all fold flat). if you're gonna get one dont bother with sucky Tiptronics absolutely no control of power to the wheels.
Definitely have the fun factor and with a few basic mods you can surprise people at the lights
RPW over in aussie have all sorts of bolt on goodies for serious performance, or you can do the basics like mine (ECU, Exhaust, Intake) and net around 120 kw atw.
