Hey guys
I need a pair of long shifter cables to suit C56 gearbox. AE111 are longest I have found so far, does anybody know of or have a longer pair?
The other option and probably needed is to extend the cables. Does anyone know where this can be done?
Thanks
Brad

Re: Long shifter cables or extending cables
Which end do you need to extend them on? You could consider cutting the drivers end and cutting a thread onto the rod, then using a extendor with eother a rod end or the original end on the end of an internally threader pipe to adjust as long as you need.
As long as all mounting points staY the same don't see why it wouldn't work
Hope that makes sense

Re: Long shifter cables or extending cables
I just used Toyota cables to make my Honda 6 speed box work, as long as you have a spare set, I
just cut the shifter end off , then just cut the end off the spare set to the length you need and weld
it on, cheep and easy and hasn't failed me yet. I guess the mounting points for you a to short which is a different
story and so were mine but I sent the cables through the passengers foot well for the most direct route.

Re: Long shifter cables or extending cables
Had thought about the Sw20 ones, would be good to have a play with them if anyone has a spare set?
It doesnt matter which end I extend as the hole I am running them trough in the firewall is custom and just need to move the shifter back 300mm to new seating position. Welding two sets together crossed my mind also but had thought of issues long term, having no sleeve on them would allow dust etc to get in so if it was cabin side I guess it is an option.

Re: Long shifter cables or extending cables
I'm doing the same thing for my more rearward seating position. Plan was to machine a small Teflon guide with enough clearance to not restrict movement. You'll never bend the steel part of the cable.

Cable is perfect thickness for m6(iirc) sleeve, so cut as neccessary and rejoin the plastic sleeve nicely and attach threaded sleeve at end
