The Click Of Death - Ticking Time Bomb?

Postby SEdan » Sun Jun 28, 2015 7:43 pm

20V BT has JUST started the VVT pulley click of death. I will 100% confirm it's the pulley before I start proceedings but cant do that for another day or two, but how long can one leave this for, before it can start doing real damage. I think I've probably got a couple of weeks, maybe a month before I can tear down the car and replace the pulley - is that going to be any drama? It's a bastard as 8000 kms ago, EVERYTHING was replaced (CB, WP, Tensioner etc).

I've found a supplier in aus who does the pulleys for what I think is a really good price (~280 AUD) but would prefer to buy from nz. Can anyone recommend one of the sponsors or anything? I have done a search but couldn't see any hard and fast prices.

The pulley can click for a long time without much damage. Mine was ticking the whole time I owned my BT (15,000 kms)
