I have recently made the switch from predominantly Nissan to a 2ZZGE Fielder. So far, I haven't been disappointed but I'm just hoping I could clear up a couple of things
My 1st observation is that when shifting from 3rd-4th there is only a 500rpm drop. Are they normally that close?
2nd - Would I be correct in assuming it is fitted with a C60-02A gearbox? Its had a manual conversion so the chassis tag doesn't tell me
3rd - What are my options for an LSD? Is it an aftermarket such as Cusco only or could I use one from a Celica or MR-S perhaps? Or another C-series box?
Thanks is advance

Re: Fielder Gearbox and LSD
Yeah 3rd-4th is really close, only to be super dissapointed by the huge gap between 4th and 5th if I remember correctly.
It's only more noticable due to the fact it drops off lift between 4th and 5th from what I hear.
Diff options are;
- TRD plate type (1.5 or 2way)
- Cusco
- Kaaz (what I've got in my racecar)
- Quaife ATB - don't even bother
All will set you back $1200 or so depending on where you buy from. plus opening up the gearbox to install..
Suprisingly a lot of second hand boxes come with diffs already in them. The one I bought from a wrecker in Auckland came with a TRD diff in it. Unfortunately already had a new Kaaz unit to go in as these things always go..
All other C series diffs are different including MRS so not worth interchanging.

Re: Fielder Gearbox and LSD
Thanks for that. I'll just have to get used to 3rd-4th
I'd like to do a couple of track days in it and after going from an open diff to LSD during my 2KCup stint I definitely want an LSD before I hit Hamptons again
I might hit up a couple of dismantlers & see what I get back. Might be worth buying a whole gearbox if its cheap enough
