Hi everyone,

Just recently joined this site and wondering if anyone is heading to Cromwell in a couple of weeks for the Toyota Festival ? Sounds like it'll be Toyota's as far as the eye can see. Excellent !

Just getting my '87 AE82 GT Liftback up to scratch to attend for the Show n Shine. Bonnet being repainted and original wheels refurbished. Cromwell will turn on the good weather too hopefully !

I will be taking my Crown up, entering in show and shine and for the driving on the track. im keen to see how a big stock standard car goes on the track. ya top speed here we come.

Yeah I'm hoping to get there, maybe go into the show and shine, but my heaps aren't looking so flash for it haha

Five hours grooming the inside of the car, damm its shiny. now to do the outside on Friday night, after the drive up. new race brake pads and high temp fluid going in tomorrow, no pads in the south island for the Crown.

Well I'm just about ready to go now too ! Most jobs ticked off the list so should be a good day out in Cromwell.

that's a nice shine on your AE82. If I'm lucky with work I might be up Cromwell that week. Will have try get there to have a look see. But i'll be in a LDV van. (could be interesting on the track )

Wow what a great day on and off the track. Mostly on the track. Its such a beautiful setting at 170kph. Have put a couple of dash cams on youtube. Search ' toyota track day highlands' by 'mr me' . Great fun for a "not a race" day. Got eaten by a black lexus is-f. Damm quick 5L V8 drifting it mad. The stock standard crown held its own, but I was damm cautious not to hit anything, so passing took a wee bit of time. Went over to the gokarts at lunch time and damm near missed the third session.
I will look at posting some pictures. Best show in shine award went to a total original white ae86. Mint condition.

so wanted to go but was the same day as the west coast rally seen lots of photos of some cool rides and looks like it was a good turn out
