Carbon lip looks good. Very shiny but you can tell it's carbon in the photos. Looks way better than my fake CF look vinyl lip haha. I guess my only advantage is if I scratch mine I can just patch it with more vinyl.

Fitted the stock airbox and intake pipe that I sourced and went to pick a part and raided an FXGT for some trim pieces that were a bit shit on mine.

Quieter. Looks tidier. Have to sort out if the vacuum lines are correct. They are the same as they have been for the last 4+ years though.

Driving home last night and the Starlet decided it would blow a bigger hole in the radiator, steam everywhere
There has always been a small leak which I couldn't fix and the rest of the radiator was on its way out with rusty bits and the cooling fins disintegrating. This is the small half sized radiator so cooling efficiency was never great and going up hills or high load on the engine for long periods of time would make the temperature rise 2/3rds up the gauge quite often. Occasionally I would use the heater to bring the temps down faster. The odd thing is the temperature will also go down to 1/3rd on the gauge sometimes like going down hills.

The new radiator I picked up this morning from Able Smith Radiators is a full size one so this should help with cooling although a new half sized one would work too but they stopped making them. The differences in this large one is obviously its size, the bottom right mount and the top right mount position and the drain plug location. Everything else is the same. So to mount it all I had to do was find an M8 nut to go on the other end of the right hand top mounting bolt. Luckily there is already a mounting position on the radiator support bar and a hole, just no captive nut. The bottom right mount remains in place on the car, the radiator just sits on the mount rather than having the pin fit into the rubber bush.

Still yet to test it on steep hills and in traffic but I'm sure it will work well now.

Don't forget to change thermostat (and before that flush the coolant).

Engine out of race car, after 10 years, and 94 events.

Pretty smokey, but 190 psi in each cylinder.

Can't complain about that sort of a run out of a $550 wrecker motor. Tough engines those silvertops.

Refreshed engine back in the hole, but not hooked up yet.

Probably get the original engine rebuilt and have it lurking as a spare for the future.

I changed the thermostat a few years ago with a TGP and it's had new coolant a few times over the years.

This is the reason why I mentioned thermostat. If temperature goes below "normal" after the car warmed up, it suggest that thermostat is jamming up (in semi-closed or open state).

Yeah that's what I got from what you pointed out too but it's done it since new. Might grab another one when I buy some more TGP. It might not have liked getting hot.
The other funny thing is the gauge will go up and down when cornering.... Up when turning left, down when turning right. I'll put that down to a weak needle spring.

Haha thanks! I don't use any products to clean the interior. Just give it a wipe with a microfiber cloth every month or so and that's it :)
