Kiwi-Corolla wrote:^ Yep, that's the case with most cars that have auto up/down windows. If you've disconnected the battery, unplugged the switch or changed the regulator you have to reset the system by putting the window down from the door itself (eg. right rear) and hold down the switch for an extra 5-seconds once it's reached the bottom. Then when you put it up you hold the switch for an extra 5-seconds once it's fully up. We get a lot of customers coming into work asking for a new window regulator or master switch but a simple 10-second reset usually fixes the problem and costs them nothing :)

I first discovered that in my mums civic after changing battery, was so confused until I did a google search

Did a home auto trans service & flush on my prado.

Dropped the pan, cleaned all the crap out, new filter, re attached.

Then disconnected the return pipe from the oil cooler and kept topping up the trans oil and running the engine until it ran clear - 14 Litres later of Toyota Type IV - $$$$$$$ .

The truck has done 300,000kms and i don't think the transmission has ever been looked at. The Old oil looked like 0w5 engine oil after 50,000kms - but it's nice and red now.

The transmission is so much happier... torque converter even locked up half way up the harbour bridge when it got up to 80kmh, it never used to do that, well worth it.

Even just reading that makes you feel good haha, reminds me of doing the P\Steer fluid in the supra, it was black and had the consistency of water, took about 5 litres of fresh fluid to flush it clean, but it was a huge improvement after doing that

Looking sharp. You should get a the later model steering wheel as they are much nicer to use and look at. They are usually almost free as well.

Thanks Al.

I have been tossing up ideas on steering wheels as this one is a bit worn, but only on the right side.
I don't really like the 4 spoke one with the chunky centre, not sure you can even get these without airbags. Plus I am so used to the low position of the side spokes on the early model one that a high position on would be annoying. I've driven modern cars with similar high spoke positions and I don't like it.

What wheels did you have in mind? I know people use ST202 Celica wheels which look nice.
Toyota had about 8 different wheels over the life time of the SW20 plus 2 race style wheels which I assume where optional.

Yip link is fixed. It's nice but I'm not sure on the shape.

I'd either get the GEN1 re-covered in new leather or a Sparco R 368 or similar.

I hated using the gen1 wheel. The later wheel is 10x nicer to use.

Finally got a new car. Got a 2003 Altezza, auto 1GFE. Refused to get a 3SGE one as I cannot stand the sound of them

Absolutely love it. Super comfy and love the torque of the 6. Just need to get a towbar for it now
