The GT failed a WOF :-( Brake pads are easy to do. Fixing the fact that the crank seal is leaking like sieve onto the exhaust and smoking, not so much. Might be time to sell the old girl on.

Received the Haynes manual I ordered for my ZZE122 Corolla wagon...

... only to find it does not include anything on 1.8L engines. 8O :x

really should have checked the front and rear covers online.

Does it only cover the 3 and 4 ZZ engines? I've never seen any of these engines before. That Haynes manual must be for other markets that are not NZ or Japan or even USA/Canada.

You need this one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Corol ... Sw--1WrqKc

I find the Gregory's manuals are often better than Haynes anyway.

Which Haynes one did you get by the way? Their Corolla one does cover the 1ZZ but maybe you bought one for the wrong market: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-HAYNES-R ... w8lCCHo3jw

edit: guessing you bought this one, which is for the UK market: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Haynes-Owner ... SwAYtWMwL7

Care package from Japan finally arrived...literally took as long to get from Auckland as it did Japan to NZ!

All going to plan my wheels will arrive in 4 weeks. Just in time to get polished up, tyres fitted then onto the road trip!

Corolla all tarted up.

Refitted the door panels that I redyed the original colour and cleaned it inside and out. Amazing how much better it looks back in the original colour and with the pocket covers that were missing when I got the car. Wipers repainted black and lower windshield cowl.

Superglued the cubby pocket door back onto the hinges. #ae82problems
