Cleaned the Altezza for the first time since buying it

Tried on an RP01....not sure what it would look like with higher profile tyres, this is a (flat) 225/50/15 which is too short.

I find the Gregory's manuals are often better than Haynes anyway.

Which Haynes one did you get by the way? Their Corolla one does cover the 1ZZ but maybe you bought one for the wrong market: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-HAYNES-R ... w8lCCHo3jw

edit: guessing you bought this one, which is for the UK market: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Haynes-Owner ... SwAYtWMwL7

Yup, that is the one - has to be my mistake, could have sworn that the one I took the ISBN from to compare prices was the Aussie one. meh, returned now, will claim on Paypal insurance.

Thanks heaps for the heads up and recommendation!

Fitted what I assumed to be 20v spec springs and new shocks to the Corolla, dropped it a bunch more than I was expecting! Doesn't scrape on my driveway at least  but it's pretty bouncy now...

What did you do to restore them? What was wrong with them?

Used this leather repair kit from the UK. Leather repair company. They have a YouTube video on how to do it. One kit did both wheels and I could probably do another. The black leather colour had worn away on both wheels showing this yellow mess all over the wheel. The NZGT wheel (the one that just says Toyota) had this big superglue stain on the horn pad that I couldn't remove no matter what I used. Even soaking it with isopropyl alcohol did nothing. So redyed over that .

FXGT wheel is for sale. Rare so I want good coin for it.

Got replacement engine mounts and diff bushes for the soarer. Old engine mounts fell apart when I took the engine out.

Wheels arrived for the Corolla, though not the Tom's ones sadly. Fitted up some RE003's, and got an alignment. Need to figure out how to get more front camber/caster without going coilovers though, even with ccamber bolts I couldn't get much over 1.2 degrees negative.

Slot the bottom holes where the hub bolts onto the strut, towards the outside. Or camber plates from Barry.

Sweet, will give that a try on my return. Couldn't see any camber plates on his website, K-mac do a good option which gives camber and caster adjustment, and are rubber so should be nicer for a road option. Not cheap though!

Decided to try and get a WOF today. So that meant tracing a wiring fault with my brake circuit. Took 2-3 hours to work out which wire it was, pull all the panels off to get to it, and feed a new wire through and retest. Got the car all back together sometime around 10PM last night.

Turned up at WOF station this morning to a long queue of people waiting. So flagged that idea, will take it down during the week.

Have been putting that fix off for over a year now, with car being stuck in storage, motivation has been low. Had a visit from
Dell'Orto booked in for today though, so thought i'd better pull finger and get onto it!
