Hiace Diesel Injector Issue!!

Hi all, i haven't been here in years but hoping someone will be able to help.

I have a 2010 hiace with a 3 litre turbo diesel, ive had it about 4 years and a handful of times it would go into limp mode but be fine after turning it off and back on again, toyota said it was an injector going open circuit.

last week it started having an issue where it went into limp mode and lost heaps of power, under load it would knock a lot. the check engine light also came on
I took it to toyota and they ran a diagnostic check, they said that one of the injectors had gone open circuit, same as before. they cleared the codes and the check engine light went off and stayed off, however the lack of power and the knock remained.

Toyota had it for a week and all they could come up with was 'probably the injectors but we dont know' . I dont really want to spend $3500 on something that might not be the problem.

Is there anyway to test the injectors using a multimeter or something?

Has anyone else had this same problem and the solution was something other than the injectors?

only costs a few hundred to recon injectors (plus labour to remove and install). what is the $3500 quote for?

$3500 was to replace all four injectors with new ones

They will be replacing the injectors the seat seals? and the injector pipes ,
and probably using genuine injectors.

The injectors are not serviceable, only replacable,
we have done a set in one of our vans,
and can be done for less than that,'
but probably not at a Toyota Dealership

It ended up costing about $3200, then I got a phone call a few days later saying there has been a recall for this issue and I will be getting a full refund!

Yeah the 1KD injectors are a prick. I spent $3000 odd on them as well.

Doing oil every 7500kms and changing the diesel fuel filter every year is supposed to be the best chance of them lasting.
