Toyota CVT fluid 'TC'

Postby ptrain » Thu Oct 04, 2018 4:19 pm

Hi all, wondering if anyone has tried generic cvt fluid instead of the genuine Toyota TC stuff?
Something like this?

Any Issues? Its much cheaper.... Says its fully compatible with Toyota CVT TC

Sell literally thousands of litres of it, have never had an issue.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

What are you planning to do? Drain and refill?

CVT is voodoo, I wouldn't touch anything that isn't Toyota, or supplied by a trans specialist that knows what is required. Had mine serviced a few years ago, fluid and a few seals I think. Old guy running the place knew exactly what was available for the CVT. He also hated CVT with a passion, unreliable and horrible things.

Just my 2c of course.
