Anyone using Repco axle stands?

I took mine back and got a new set of powerbuilt 3 tons and bought another set at reduced cost.

Just to confirm.... ones that look exactly like that but a different brand bought from supercheap or repco are safe? I figure its all made in the same factory or was it just a bad batch?

Print the ad off and take it in to Supercheap/Repco with the stands and get them to confirm that they're not the ones subject to the recall.

I don't trust any of the kids in there... they are more interested in talking to their mate than looking after customers... but i guess thats my answer anyway - don't by safety gear from teenagers

so true, Repco cost us $$$ in downtime by new young employees messing up and supplying incorrect parts. Most of guys that do have a clue always move on and you get stuck with new douchbags that dont have much of an idea at all.

When we call them, there is only one guy we deal with and if hes busy or out we will just call BNT or ask if he can call us back.

The 'set' pictured in the middle of this is identical to the one I picked up from the Warehouse a couple of years ago. My axel stands look like the ones pictured. I also have the dolly, the trolly jack, the chocks, etc etc... wonder if I should be worried?

I rarely use the axelstands alone, though, I usually leave the jack under the car and just put the axel stands in place as insurance in case the jack fails. Of course, i rarely have the car jacked up for more than 30 minutes at a time....

Jacks aren't designed to hold things up Put it on axle stands with a slight pressure on the jack if you want both things in place.

I wouldn't be worried though, just sit something under the sills that is bigger than you

yeah if it's gonna be more than about 10 minutes i usually let the axel stands take at least some of the weight. Mainly it's oil changes.
