the road from aucks out to piha beach, don't know the name, as don't know auckland at all, lol. damn nice, good variety of corners, 25-75 through most, plus few 100k+ areas. on the downhill side coming back into aucks hammered it through, and brakes started to go spongy, it's hard pulling up a 1600kg car from 120k into a cambered 45k hairpin after a lot of heavy braking! friend was not empressed, swore she'd kill me once we got back after she broke a nail hanging on!!

Nah dude, you're thinking of Koheroa Road (spelling?),thats the one on the other side, when you go across the train tracks and past Mercer Primary School. It ends up out by the Castle Cafe at Mangatawhiri/Maramarua.Very cool road to drive but the condition is pretty shocking in some places, wouldn't be very friendly on a heavily lowered car.
The one I'm talking about you have to go behind the Mercer Country Stop, over the Mercer Bridge, past the Rowing Club and up into the hills.Once you get to the end of Mile Bush Road you can take a left onto SH22 and head towards Tuakau,go down the Corkscrew, over the Tuakau Bridge, then past the Gravel Pit and Tukau League Club then hang a right onto Whangarata Road and this takes you out to Pokeno *right by the Cop Shop

yer I went out whangarata road yesterday and then through ridge road(turn left just after little bridge) to go to the mini putt. Ridge road has a few mean corners that caught me out, I saw a little starlet going nuts through there!!
Gotta love living on Scenic Drive
the drive to and from work is always fun, the titirangi side is nice and tight with alot of second gear corners but the whole road is great fun in the middle of the night.
me and a mate were fanging around one night in my rolla and his mr2 and all of a sudden his headlights dissapeared behind me, he spun out into a bank and just lightly tapped his rear bumper. could have been a lot worse
Te Henga Rd, Bethels Rd, Birdwood Rd are all good locals. but the Pukemasomething summit on scenic drive is awesome for some faced paced downhill fun!

What about ridge road in the same sorta area???
Gee thanks for posting that - seems since this post we've had heaps of Toyotas flying past here (I live on Ridge Rd, just by the mansion being built). But gotta agree, it is a cool road. Three Sundays ago we had 18 Ferraris, plus some other exotics cruise past - including an Enzo and 612 Scagletti.
There is a Nobel that makes appearances almost weekly too.
