bearings problem.

Yep, hopefully it wont be too far off now.

Since my starlet's clutch packed a sad yesterday, (and it has 15 days of WOF and rego left, and about 16 days till it discintegrates) it might be some rather good timing too.

Well I got the crank in and torqued up, and it turns freely now.

Problem solved!

ok, for the next teaser>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

i'm rebuilding the old 1800 as the 2T couldn't handle my jandal.

block honed and crank polished.....still standard tolerances. why then , when i fit standard bearings and tighten the caps does the crank seize?? the block, pistons/rods are from the original engine, the crank is the lightest(standard) in my pile of bits, but from another 3T

has someone repacked the bearing boxes with oversize bearings??,event though there is nothing stamped on the bearing to suggest they are o/s,
is the machinist on drugs or pissed?
does the crank need to go one a diet?

cleanliness is godliness, and it is now rotating freely. i neglected to clean ALL the packaging grease off the back of one of the shells causing it to bind on the crank.
