compressing springs

was just wandering if i am compressing non progressive springs then however much i want off the ride height is how much i have to have the springs compressed by right ???

also i know places round auckland like snell springs do this, who else and approx how much it cost ?

wouldnt it still depend on the firmness of the springs as well though- not just the height of them.

1-2" inches off stock springs any more and your a crazy man/munter, compressing is good but its not good for getting your car really slammed, being sensible i would only lower it to sit the tyre in the guard just that little bit sweeter, ya know

I had resets on my old mazda, 2" drop (which is a lot, 50mm) they were pretty good, passed warrents no worrys, resets are not illegal although it seems to be common knowledge now amongst nzpc forum *cough* that they are, your springs do need to be captive which means shortened or shorter shocks, there was less roll because of the aftermarket shocks and the car sat at a nice height (tyres almost level with the guard)

can any1 recommend a place around howick that would compress my gtz's springs around 1.5"? Also how much is it usually?

cheers PumpN ye thats the plan i want the guards sitting just over the top of the side wall of the tires, my old AE85 had king springs which were supposed to be 20-30mm drop which was sorta accurate but unless i had it parked next to my other AE85 with stock springs you couldnt tell it was lowered at all, guess they just really high cars standard, im gettin some TRD springs which are 30mm drop so i was planning to compress these maybe another 15mm so i get the tire sitting inline with the guard. and ye will then sort shortened shox to keep all happy and captive
