Adjusting AFM trick

Post by www.mods.co.nz »

Hi I found a website that explains how to adjust the AFM on my AE92 Levin.

Has anyone else done this mod and what sort of difference in power or response did you get.

It says to move the cog 3-5 places how far is best?

depending on ur setup

negitive gains can be found.

generally if free power could be found by just winding the afm toyota would have done so.

BUT on that note if you are running headers exhaust and intake you could possibly see some gains by 1,2 clicks.

i've done this on my afm, wound back anti clockwise to make it richer, and yea it feels bit more responsive, but i had to do this as i put bluetop cams in and it ran a bit ruff at idle.

it wont hurt to try 2 clicks.

yeah, i dont know what your on about dohca.... the reason toyota didnt do it from factory would eb for emmisions... economy etc etc.

it will just up the mixture... like you say too much will have a negative effect, but you may be able to find a sweet spot, may use a little more gas, but slightly more power, but u would need the exhaust and intake done as well
