ae101 shocks and springs

Post by trueno93 »

not sure if this is in the right place but ill put it here anyway. :D
Does anyone know what sorta price i would be expecting to pay for a new set of shocks(maybe monroe?), lower springs(king) and maybe some nolathane bushes?
Kinda want to upgrade the suspension but not lookn to go the hole hog with adjustables.
Also if you guys have had good/bad experiences with any particular brands it would be good if you could let me know so i can make a better choice?

Yeah depends if you have Super Strut.

If you do, i think you can get kyb's for around $1000.

As for springs, doesnt really matter what kind they are all relatively the same, although youll prob have trouble trying to finding a aftermarket spring kit for s/s with 50mm drop. If you want that amount of drop, id recommend getting a set of springs specially made.

I would recommend putting in kyb shocks or koni shocks as the munroe shocks are more of a run of the mill average shock , good for the average consumer but not for a car enthusiast like yourself. And while your at it put in some sports bumpstops by superpro and you'll be sussed.

But u need to decide wot u are doing with your car ie street , drag , race , rally and then that will give a better idea about your options or let me know wot u want and i can get it for u if u like :D

in my experience i replaced my shocks with kyb excel g's these cost around about 700 for all four corners, being a whole enw strut they are a piece of piss to replace, i used cobra springs in mine, but with the enw shocks it bought the ride height back up again, i heard to lower the back properly you need to get the shock shortend so that the spring will remain captive.

nah no super strut here aye. really just gunna be using it for street but would like it if it dropped a bit in the process :D so anyone got ideas of how much sports springs, shocks and these bumps that you talk about will set me back? also would you recomend doing the bushes at the same time?

hey i can help you out there, looking at around $400ish for a set of springs, and shocks are anywhere from $200ish to $1000 each... depends on what brands you want, i can do TRD, cobra, dobi sport, king (at a pinch) koni, kyb etc etc etc
email me your model and frame numbers and ill sort you a deal.
cheers
