yea but it depends if its got a leak or not. if u have just let the gas out then shoult be sweet to top up but if there a leak then they cant leagally gas it up cause it illegal cause it green house gases and shit.
we do it at work at takanini auto air and electrical but try a place called Auckland Auto Air. im pretty sure they do it. cant exactly remember where they r but they b in the ph book. but yea air con can get pretty pricy cause if it not done right it will just $$% out and u just keep forking out more and more money. trust me if u want it done get it done proper

you dont need to convert ur A/C to R134a you can buy "drop in" refigerants that work fine with the old R12 A/C systems, just R134a is not a ozone depleatent gas as R12 is and R12's drop in thats the only real reason to convert ur system over, (r134a is just 99% greenhouse....6of one half a dozen of the other)

for replacement of R12 is a refigerant called sp34e, and we buy it thru our suppliers, im not exacly sure about sale to the general public but im pretty sure that you can as sp34e is not a restricted refigerant, talk to a kirbys refigeration dealership or most air con places shoud be able to order it (only avaliable in 13kg bottles tho...average car takes 2kgs from empty)
