shit happens

Post by nmemr2 »

so at the car chow last friday i managed to burn out the voice coils in my front speakers.
its not that big a deal as they were shit and i was looking to upgrade them anyway.

so the question is, what do i get next? i want components to replace the coaxials i had and im looking for a lot of power and good to great sound quality. what are your reccomendations, price isnt too much af a factor as i dont want to compromise power and quality but obviously cheaper is better

Alpine type X components. bloody good, but pretty expensive.

Or for less, some DD C6.2 $300 mark. Again bloody good & powerful but much cheaper.

Just my opinion of a few good sets.

when choosing, if you want a bolt in speaker, avoid overly wide magnets as they foul on the window runner, eg my alpine type s components with std spacer. depth is a bit of an issue, but not too bad. it is a bit of a mish to make spacers that fit in behind the trims, but it is possible.

You can pick up infinity kappas for $250 at PI.. cant go wrong !! (except for the fact they are PI, not supporting local industry etc.. )

Im sure the perfects are quite a bit more expensive then the other 2 models you listed though

Err having the whole system the same brand isnt the best idea as it limits your choices in alot of products, for example Rainbow dont make Headunits etc etc.

Any reason why you want to stick with one brand??
