how hard is it to do this, and wot sort of $ labour it gona sting me?

you could try it your self just undo your tie rod end but make sure u either measure how far out the tie rod orignally was or count how many turns it took to take it off...

I could probably do it for you if you need a hand. Easiest way it to use specail boots that you can slide over the tie rod end without removing it, but I'm not sure if you can buy them individually. Got heaps at work though.


If you've gonna do it yourself this is pretty much how

Remove the wheel
Remove the castle nut and split pin from the tie rod
Bash the bit that the tie rod goes into with a hammer (NOT the tie rod end. You do NOT want to damage that thread). Basically trying to shock the end out. Might take a few swings
Loosen the locking nut on the tie rod end
Remove the end and make sure to count the number of turns it took to get it off. Write this number down.
Remove locking nut
Remove the boot
Put new one on
Secure it with zip ties or whatever it comes with
Locking nut back on
Tie rod end back on the right number of turns
Tighten it with the lock nut so nothing can move
Tierod end back into its hole it came out of
Castle nut and split pin back on
Wheel back on
