Can't believe noone picked up on this yet.

Post by Ako »

On Friday last week, Graeme from Croydons drove his supra out to meremere.

He then ran a 9.915 @ 219.12 kph.

And drove the car all the way home again.

Full respekta to the man, thats awesome 8)

Now, I'm assuming this gets no attention since its a 2JZ and not a 20V

Yea I heard about that. Didn't he pull a faster time then that though?

Somewhere along the lines I heard of a 9.8** (?) although I might be getting my wires crossed up somewhere...

Biggy Ups to him none the less. Very Impressive!

IMO, cars like that are cooler than dedicated drag machines. 8)
(Dont get me wrong, tubbed out, insanely powerful drag machines are cool too!)

Much respect to that man, a sub 10 second car that is still streetable is very cool. 8)

Yep, I was there and watched that pass. Wondered if it was a PB. Excellent to see a sub 10 second streetable supra in NZ at last.

From what I've heard there's a couple coming over from the US (?) this year expecting to pull some well into the 9s and even 8s...

his first run he pulled a 10.4 i think it was against the redline vr4, blew the i/c piping off in third, and just kept the foot up it and drove it n/a, and still did 10.4!! think he also did a 9.984, so that might have been where you got the 9.8 from sk. awesome that he just drove it there and back! dads been forwarding a few of the e-mails on the mk4 club list to me, so thats where i heard it.

He did the run on street tyres?
I also like the "drive to the event, race all day and then drive home". Awesome. A true 9 sec street car.

That's because we all already know how great the 2JZGTE's are.
It was only a matter of time......

I don't think the Area 51 car is an RB26, just an RB25. And not 'he', 'she' ;)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
