Holy crap, wondered where you'd disappeared to! Yeah, you'll get ~$1500 for the FX, they've gone up in value somewhat.

My TZ-G (3SGE 4WD) gives me about 450km on ~53L (my typical fillup) which is about $80 of 91 Octane. Thats a bit of a hybrid - I drive 25 to 30km to work (each way) plus a bit of round-town-ness. Open road it may widen out into the low 500's.
I would expect that a GT-T based on a slightly newer version of the 3S would give you similar performance unless you have a lead foot...

caldina gt non turbo, ours has the computer to tell you economy etc.
on 98 it regularly does ~ 12-14km/L , up to 600km per tank on the open road, fully loaded with 2people+ ~100kg of stuff
i usually only use 50L of gas to do that distance but theres at least 5 more litres under empty , probly more like 10 but ive never been keen to push it that far.
on 95 its shit, noticeably less power and only 10-11km/L.
id never bother runing it on 91.
around town its quite thirsty, usually turning in 400-450km per 50L gas.
the GT is a good option if you're worried about insurance cost and fuel usage. i got mine as a sensible long distance car as i have my ae101 for going fast in.
they go pretty well for a lardass n/a 2L, but unfortunately they are all auto and it kills it from a standing start. once its going ive found it roughly comparable to blacktop ae111's in terms of speed, but the torquier engine makes overtaking quite comfortable. they have quite a noticeable kick at ~4500rpm and they take off from there. good for a laugh to load up the 4wd through corners and watch 6cyl holdens/fords get sideways trying to keep up.

Agree with most of the above.
What engine does the GT have? That makes it a 98 or so right? I seem to recall a few of those had 3SFE's which are less powerful, but more fuel efficient. (might be im thinking of the previous generation)
In my 3SGE on 91 Octane I still get 400-450km on around 50-55L being mostly round-town driving. I'm convinced that a 2WD would give me another 50-100km per tank... (IIRC, tank is 62L.)

most ive ever got into a GT tank was 55L and that was after driving under E for about 15minutes.i suspect there probly a few more L in there tho.
the GT was 97 onwards, and gets the beams 3S-GE with single VVT-I , rated at 140kw/191hp i think.
it also gets the GTT interior and seats, and all variations of the gtt bodykit were optional, some have top and bottom spoiler, some only got the top, some only got the bottom.
some of the earlier model ones got 3sfe's, and there is a few other model designations in the 97 onwards too.
essentially the GT is a GTT minus the turbo engine/tiptronic transmission and with their best version of the 3s available at the time and a normal auto gearbox.
if you've looked at carib/corolla bzT's and decided they are too small or dont like the idea of a 1600 then you'll probly be looking at the GT as an option.

borrowed my cousin's gt for a weekwnd trip to toepaw, thought it was the biggest piece ever, no torque, no overtaking, always labouring. not heavily loaded, but with a bike on the roof, used heaps of gas as was always strugling.
In our GTT, have managed WLG-AKL in one hit, 800kms reasonably loaded after a two week south island trip, took 55litres.
on the otherhand have seen 2.6 km/l on a scenic drive run whan it was running 22psi.

Dont really agree with that. My GT has enough pwer when you need it, is pretty economical if I dont use a lead foot (4-500k per tank). Tis very sluggish from a standing start though.
But then again, you cant really compare NA to turbo when it comes to power/torque.
