as much as i hate to say it the hondas are supposed to be fairly quick.... i would buy the best aw11 i could personally...

any reason for the non turbo mate? a supercharged aw11 would do pretty well against most things....

 Hahah... fast and cheap.... Price up some parts for any car and you will soon come to realise that if you want to modify your car, you gotta have a wallet to support it. They come hand in hand. Look at some of the top drag or show cars... excess of $200k on some of them!

Probably the fastest $6k car.. SW20 MR2 Turbo... not sure how long it would last, as its going to be pretty rough. And if you think a Honda is going to be hard on the gas... ... then you should find a Charade or Daihatsu

 Gotta tell it like it is

At 6k your not going to find many fast cars that havnt been thrashed.

What are you restricted to in terms of insurance?

Yeah, bang for buck an sw20 turbo would be good... Bought mine for $4500 and it was and still is in a real state... but 140kw at the wheels with only a pod filter and you cant beat a mid engined vehicle

really? i was meaning it wouldnt be a that drastic of a fuel increase to go turbo.

ive got 4 or so mates that all have turbos that were under 6-7k (2 wrx, a RS and a cyborg) and they have all lasted

best traffic light car for that price range or less would have to be a vn commodore haha. No top end but when you step on the gas from a stop they really take off :)
