Yep it should be in Central Otago/Dunedin. -I'm sure someone would be able to get the race to the sky road/wairau ski field road closed & have hill climbs, plently of adventure things to do in Wanaka or Queenstown. Although if we waited till 09 then the Cromwell motorsport park should be operational & the speedway is next door & perhaps have a demo derby.

But yeah should be this side of the straight if possible or at the very least Welly, so some of us southerners can make it up affordably

was that the chch one?

i'm with you on that, huge turn out with mint cruise, if we could get the same turnout i'd step up and organise it, I just think too many people lost interest / moved away

Sure was.

Grasskana with the roof off

Great fun until you have to clean all the dirt out for the next month.

I'm keen for NI somewhere. Already started saving as I was talked out of it last time :(

This time I'll be ready. I'll even pay in advance.

Anyone interested in maybe having it at Hampton Downs? Or too far north?

I had a roof and STILL got the inside of the car coated in dust and crap. That was so awesome.

dunno about others, but anywhere on the southern island would get me going to it, CBF driving for 10 hrs, hopping on a ferry for a few more hours to be in wellington. and yes I realise that anything that is in the south is 10hrs drive etc from auckland.

the main problem with having it in the SI is the complete lack of club support bar a few members in dunedin
chch has completely fallen on its arse.
and if held in dunedin, then there will be bugger all ppl from anywhere else attending.

fix that and then maybe we can look at holding one there

If it was moved to the christmas/newyear break ( i know its traditionally held labour weekend) then perhaps it could be in the south island, perhaps nelson, queenstown/wanaka ie the traditional party towns/holiday hotspots. My reasoning for this is people have time off work usually & they could combine it into a bit of a holiday too.

Thoughts?

Otherwise my vote is for wellington & hope there's a good deal on for the ferry
