Engine Oil Disposal

Post by Snoozin »

I've got about 50 or 60 litres of the stuff. Need to get rid of it!!!

Anyone know where I can ditch this crap? Aside from down the drain of course!

Is there a landfill in your area? Our local one has a tanker you can empty your oil in.

No most garages get charged for disposal. 13c litre last time i got charged. Try some of the big users (tractor companys, truck stops etc) you may be able to band together, and throw a dozen beer at one of the mechanics

Just go and chuck it over the fence at ram-it, they have a huge tank for it :P . They have given tanks to all the wreckers that use them and will take it away for free. So if you are friends with wreckers go and see them.

I've always been there with a trailer load and took the oil too so not sure if you can just take oil.

Porirua (Broken Hill) have the oil drop inside the tip, so charge you to leave oil. Bastards.

Heard something from the guy who works next to us talking to my boss the other day, apparently there is a company around palmy that pays to take wate oil off of your hands, probably so no one disposes of it in an unsafe manner. Well at least thats what it sounded like, unsure of a name or anything though, but there are a few waste oil collection places around.

Yeah I've heard of them too, forget the name of the crowd but they only take in in 200+ litre amounts.
