Automatic question

Ok so i know nothing about automatics. My sister drives a hyhundi accent and once drive reverse or any of the other gear selections are engaged it does nothing doesnt move. A new whinning noise has started and when the car is switched off you can hear the new whinning noise wind down. any ideas?

Checked oil level? Sounds like a major..

I'm assuming you have checked that there is actually some ATF in the auto......
