Post by DXrollin »

It really annoys me when you hear people sayin Suburu, like the aussies do (no offence 2 aussies) and in some cases NZrs. The spelling shows clearly the suBAru as in Ba like a sheep! SU BA RU is how the japenese say it and they are the ones who made the dam car! So thats settled as far as im concerned.

What do you think?

well ask any mitsi owner/fan and they'll tell you its SLOWBARU

But i guess its got a lil bit to do with which culture you come from and how you pronounce your vowels.

I always said it like the japanese pronounce it, coz thats how i heard it first

*sigh*

NZ'ers actually say SA BA RU and the rest of the world or whoever says SOO BOO RU actually pronouce it SOO BA RU. if you say both ways slowly to yourself, you'll understand why.

So to conclude, we actually pronouce it incorrect as well, SA BA RU sounds better but its rong, like how we say Rome, but the actual name of the city is Roma, but it depends on where you're from, and every accent and pronounciation will be different in every country.

you say potatoe, i say potartoe, whatever  :D

I know eh...my parents are britts (its not their fault :) ) so I say auction as ORC-TION and not the stoopid kiwi way of OC-TION. Basically cause you dont pronounce auckland as OC-LAND :x

Oh and SA-BA-RU is completely wrong but thats the way they used to say it on telly, so im stuck saying it :?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I only just started learning Japanese. And don't give me shit cos I already know I'm a dick.

It's pronounced SU-BA-RU.

 haha, looks like there should be more options!!!

*su-baa-ru
*sa-ba-ru
*su-buu-ru

When I look at all these break downs I can't figure out which one I more sound like!! :?

I've picked Subaru, coz Suburu sounds silly and I know I say it with the 'a'. But I can't figure out now if I say it as "soo-baa-ru" or "sa-baa-ru"? :? :? :?

ahhhhh, waaay too much thinking!! :(
