This is the closest you'll get I'd say... and organised by the guys from NZH

A bunch Of Guys With Cars Presents......Wellington Monthly Car Meet.

Name really says it all and all we ask if you wish to attend is the following:

Rules:

Entering/leaving/during the meet we would appreciate that you be sensible with your driving. This means you don't need to plant you foot and red line your car, we all know what VTEC sounds like, and its not needed at any of our meets. It draws unwanted attention to your car from the wrong people and may end up bringing bad light on the club. This is not something the club wants nor needs so please use your common sense.

Would be great to have the same (if not bigger) turnout we had last time with even more new faces and cars to frap about.

Quick n Dirty:

Time: 07:30pm

Meet Location: Empty car park across the road from Lower Hutt Burger Fuel and Melling BP (Link)

Destination: Burger Fuel, Lower Hutt, straight across the road

Purpose: Just a monthly meet to have general catch up with your fellow NZH-ers (or wherever your from. All are welcome) and get amongst the awesomeness that is Burger Fuel (nom nom nom )

Not sure if the weekly meet still happens.. you'll find a lot of toyspeeder's in Wellington out at local motorsport events competing though.

There are a lot of meets but not made public. There are too many idiots around now which makes it hard to have organized meets (take nzpc hardpark for example). Plenty of people hold invite only meets, I know of a couple.

The group of us from here, and the nz section of supra forums, that get together a few times a year for some food and a catch up to check out each others progress, dont seem to have any issues with announcing when they will be happening, or attracting any idiots.

I think that idiots want to be around other idiots, so its no fun for them hanging around people who arent as tardy.

I think BattleSnayke is referring to the Thursday night riverbank get-togethers of idiots, rathern than anything specific to Toyspeed.

If you're wanting to catch up with people who are nuts about cars in general, there's a scheduled Auto-X in Silverstream for the 17th of June. Haven't seen any solid details yet, but the venue is on eastern hutt road, on the left if you're coming from Silverstream, just before the turn off to the Railway Museum.

Ah, I see. Ive never been there.

There are true car enthusiasts, and then there are the others. Unfortunately, the others make up a far higher proportion of modified cars on the street, hence we all get tarred with the same brush.

Thats where a good attitude comes in handy :)
