Hey guys
My partners car has sprung a leak inside somewhere, she got in the car this morning and the rear passengerside floor of the car had about 1 1/2"s of water on the floor, i took the car through a car wash last week where it leaked a bit through the sunroof and door seals (which i need to fix) but i find it weird that there was this much water in the back and no sign of where its come from, from what i can see it dosent look like it has come through the sunroof or door but ill have another look tomorrow.
slim chance but has anyone else experienced this?
and also can anyone give me any advice on replacing sunroof seals and where i could get them?
cheers
help needed, caldina's swimming

I'm not sure about Caldinas, but with my FX-GT I was told that the seal was bonded to the glass, and the glass itself had to be replaced to fix it properly, which from memory was really expensive (as in cheaper to put a plug in its place). But apparently silicon can be used if its not too bad to patch the seal.
Its something to do with the seals shrinking ever so slightly with age/usage of the car.

Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983
open the sunroof and have a look in the roof liner, there is a gutter system in there which then drains out via tubes to near the door hinges, all four of them I think, to allow for different angles of parking..... it doesn't take much to block these tubes a few leaves or a crafty spider and the the gutter can't keep up, I think there is a setup so that if the outlet is blocked it overflows into the footwell rather than the car ceiling and all over your head.
I had a caldina and checked the integrity of the sunroof seal one night with a torch and it was leaking like a sieve!!! but never had any water in the car, my golf though I found the passenger footwell full of water and found the tube on that side blocked, threaded some weedwacker nylon from the open sunroof down the tube until it emerged by the door hinge pushing out the crud and spider and all was sorted, could pour a 2 litre jug into the gutter at a surprisingly fast rate and no water in the car.
