........... and yes, i am aware that Mr Ayson utilises FJ20 power in his escort.

....................... by the way, did i mention that a Toyota won ??? first International rally victory for how many longtimes ?????

That car looks slightly odd looking for some reason ... has he got the wheelarches cut away much more so than in period, or is there something else visually odd about that Tomota? Maybe he's running with the wheelbase stretched to the max (front struts leaning forward, rear struts leaning back).

Would be interesting to hear a bit more about the car, AFAIK the car is a Factory TTE built rally car from Europe.

Very cool!

it must be a bit of a "stretch" on the classic rules? I imgaine it would be running something like MCA shocks etc? Thats the catch, the "classics" are probably faster now than they ever were!

i do feel cheated, i didn't realise he was using G1 3SGE on carbs, unless that is only Aussie spec.

The car is beautifully engineered from the ground up in Neal's Melbourne workshop and was a treat to watch.

To answer your questions Leon, the factory cars ran a range of flares. Most of the Grp4 cars had a 'deeper' side than these you see here (as you've spotted) but some were just the same. Neal has simply chosen the most practical spec for his application, which also just happen to be the most attractive.
The car, as I understand it, is pretty close to an exact replica so wheelbase is likely factory spec.

Joe, the 3SGE is permitted within the Aussie Championship classic rules. It would have been permitted under our rules also, had I continued with the build of our similar car, as we had prepared a submission justifying it's use which I'm confident would have been adopted.
So you needn't feel cheated.

wash your mouth out, it's a dirty hybrid, not unlike the rotary version Dunko used.

Accept your view of the sewer pump powered version but the installation of a BDA can only be an improvement.

dont reckon you can justify one swap and bag another.

would take a rotor over a BDA any day, and im not really a rotary fan. but have to respect their potential
