Tyre Damage, replacement needed?

Post by Tagged »

Hey Guys,

Went up the side walk this afternoon and damaged my front left tyre.
Its not bulging out but its got this piece breaking off. I know if I go to a tyre shop mostly likely they will tell me it needs replacing so I thought I ask here first.
Is this still road safe? Or should I have it replaced asap?

Thank guys

Provided you cant see any cords or canvas etc, I would run it. in the even that it was to blow out, might pay to have it on the rear.

Feel free to correct me anyone, but that damaged bit looks like its only the 'rim protector' on the tyre. A lot of tyres don't even have it, if it was me I'd use a bit of tyre solvent or something to glue it back down, even super glue works well on rubber, just not all the flexible, but should be ok in your case (low flex area).
