Hello guys I have a 1996 Levin it came with an aftermarket front kit when I brought it from which didn't fit flush with the preface-lift headlights and indicators even better whoever fitted the kit up did a real nice job of destroying the headlight and indicator brackets! From what I have learned this is a well know problem that can be fixed by buying facelift headlights and indicators. So I brought indicators and they match up just fine but it turns out the headlights I brought off trademe are the wrong kind. I brought headlights with the lens # 12-454 which apparently only fits later model AE111 Truenos? Could someone please tell me the correct lens number I need so I don't make the same mistake again? Thank you.
Checked my facelift AE111 Levin for you last night, lens numbers are 12-454.
Facelift Levin and Trueno lights are exactly the same shape, but have different coloured housings - silver for Levins, black for Truenos.
The facelift lights are a different shape from the pre-facelift ones.
I'm a little surprised that your kit would be set up for facelift lights - most of the ones I've seen locally are for PFL Levins or Truenos and won't fit facelift lights.
As with Bling's comment, I'd be interested to see photos of the various parts. Might help to narrow down the issues.
Wow I kind of let things slip haha. So I compared my headlights and they look like they will bolt straight in (see pic) only things different is the wiring which is supported by this post I found from back in 2004 lol.

Can anyone tell me what's involved in changing the wiring? Is it a matter of finding wiring from a facelift ae111 and swapping them over or is the more to it? Thank you.
Hmm, that kit looks closer to the pre facelift than the facelift light, could be ill fitting because most cheaper fiberglass kits are?
I'd hope they take the same bulbs as your current lamp if you were changing them over, bulbs have almost a universal plug on them.
Looks like separate low/high beam so maybe an H1 and H7 as opposed to a normal H4? Take a look at the amount/types of bulbs and you might not have to change anything.
Thanks for your responses they really help yeah I'm not sure where the kit was from was already on when I brought it and boy was it in a sorry state all held on by cable ties.. That diagram is sick! You reckon an auto sparky shouldn't have much trouble doing the conversion if I showed him it that diagram? I think it's a bit out of my league to try myself will probably break something haha.
